The Bee’s Knees
[Synopsis ideas – unedited work in progress]
Ellie and Zach are back. Pierce House is finally open for business, and Ellie is perfecting her skills as a chef by preparing breakfast for their first round of guests. When Ben doesn’t arrive with her morning delivery Ellie decides to drive to the farm and pick up her supplies. After all, her almost-famous scones with local honey butter wouldn’t be the same with out the honey and freshly churned butter.
She knows something is wrong when she finds two of the farm cows, Clover and Ivy, blocking the driveway. She herds them back up the hill, only to find their escape route had been created by a car that had plowed through the milking pen.
The usually pastoral scene of the farm has been changed to one of chaos. Not only are Clover and Ivy loose, but the goats and chickens are running scared. When Ellie notices that the door of Ben’s house is not only open but broken off its hinges she calls for help. Worried that Ben is in trouble she accompanies one of the goats for a look around the house only to find Ben dead, the hives destroyed, and a lot of angry bees.
